“Demonstrating the Craft,” Anatomy Tutorials with E.M. Gist

As students at our atelier advance in their skills and begin to understand the fundamentals of drawing, their questions during our instructors’ demos begin to turn to one subject in particular; anatomy.

Once a student has a firm grasp on the foundations of drawing (edge, value, and shape) they often work to understand the subtleties of the human form.  In addition to in-class, one-on-one help, our instructors often like to clarify any specific questions their students may have regarding anatomy during their demos.

Here are a few pages of Erik Gist’s anatomy-focused demos for you to enjoy, where he delved into some anatomical details and clarifications for his students.
