Costumed portrait painting will focus on painting models in costumes from various time periods. Portrait painting will typically focus on just the head, head and bust or the head and hands. The focus will be on creating portrait paintings with exceptional color, value control and edges while maintaining authenticity to the different make ups, textures and patinas shown in the references.

Meadow Gist
Meadow Gist has studied and taught at Watts Atelier for the past 15 years. She began her art career in the corporate field painting displays and murals for a major retail chain. Her work has been exhibited as a finalist in the International Artist Magazine’s Still Lifes and Florals Competition 2006 and as a “Top 50” selection at Salon International 2007.
