The emphasis of this class will be on learning to paint better landscapes using the water-based medium gouache. Working from photo reference we will create a number of paintings emphasizing application, values, edges, design and composition. Basic perspective and composing multiple images into one scene will also be addressed.

**Make sure the brushes are synthetic sables (Robert Simons short shaft-brown with gold tip)

Ben Young has studied and taught at Watts Atelier for the past 20 years. He has worked as a freelance illustrator and conceptual designer.
