In this class we will be focusing on a ‘painterly’ application of the charcoal medium using tone rather than line to lay in the figure. Emphasis will be placed on shape, value, and edge to create an ‘atmospheric’ representation of the model. Great for students of all levels.

- Cold press Bristol smooth, large individual sheets (optional)Charcoal

- Generals charcoal pencils hb, 2b,4b,6b
- various other charcoal pencils (optional)
- Vine charcoal soft or extra soft
- Generals compressed charcoal stick
- Charcoal powder and brush (optional, works better on bristol board)

- Eraser sticks
