The New Year at the Watts Atelier: Master Skill Building Challenge, Bootcamp blogs, and more!

Happy New Year!

We’re thrilled to bring in the New Year and welcome all of the exciting events on the horizon for 2016 here at the Watts Atelier.  Here’s a peek at what the first part of 2016 has in store for our students…

Master Skill Building Challenge, with James Gurney

MasterSkillBuildingChallenge

Students enrolled by the first day of the new year (Today!  If you’re not enrolled, there’s still time..!) have the amazing opportunity to participate in our first annual Master Skill building Challenge, with guest Juror James Gurney.  Full details of the Challenge will be posted on the 4th of January, right here on our blog, and the competition will begin in earnest on January 11th.

The Watts Atelier Illustration Bootcamp

January marks the return of the much-anticipated Watts Atelier Illustration Bootcamp, with instructors E.M. Gist, Lucas Graciano, Michael C. Hayes, Chris Rahn and Jeremy Cranford of Blizzard Entertainment.  While the workshop is sold out, unattending students are welcome and encouraged to follow along on our bootcamp blog.  Be sure to visit the blog throughout the week to follow along with student progress and see pictures from the bootcamp in-progress!

New Content in the New Year

As always, we’re working to produce new and exciting content for our students at the Atelier.  January will welcome two exciting additions to our online program;  A new phase for our Still Life painting lessons, by Jeffrey Watts, and a fantastic Masterclass course, tackling the specifics of perspective by E.M. Gist.  These two courses are just the beginning of a wonderful curriculum of new content we will be rolling out in the new year.

Thank you all for making 2015 such a wonderful, memorable year for us!  Here’s to a wonderful 2016, filled with drawing, painting and creativity.  Happy Studies, all!
