The In Person Community

We don’t require applications for students to take classes at our school. Anyone can join in and take a class and become apart of the community. All ages 18 and up are welcome. If you’re considering taking a class, stop by the in person school for a visit! Set up a tour by emailing [email protected].

Term based classes

The five week terms at Watts Atelier are the perfect amount of time to sink your teeth into a subject. Classes range from beginner to advanced. However, anyone can still take any class. It is okay if you’re a beginner and want to enter an advanced class, as we believe learning can be accelerated by having students of all levels in classes. It could be your first day at the in person school, but you might be sitting next to someone who has been here 5 years and has a great deal of experience. That’s part of the magic of Watts Atelier.

Most of our classes specialize in some type of life drawing practice. That means drawing the nude or clothed model from life on a stage in front of you. While some classes are meant specifically for practicing life drawing, other classes are more technical, covering aspects of color, anatomy, composition and more. So, not all classes are life drawing classes at Watts Atelier. When it comes down to it, we provide a well rounded education in all core areas: Figure, Portrait, Landscape and Still Life, as well as specialty and advanced subjects.
